How "Mindfulness" Helps Kids & Teens

Confetti Blowing

Children & teens have a lot to navigate in life.

They’re learning how to make good choices & manage their emotions.

Too often they’re juggling a variety of responsibilities at home & at school.

Practicing what’s known as Mindfulness gives them tools to help on their journey through life.

Mindfulness means being fully engaged in the present moment… but why is that important?

Well, for one thing, being mindful helps access parts of the mind dealing with focus, decision-making & self-regulation. It helps create distance between big emotions and the self. What parent wouldn’t want their child or teen to develop the ability to choose their responses rather than impulsively react to every event that occurs around them?

My goal at A Mindful Approach is 3- pronged… to Talk, Treat & Teach your son or daughter how to identify their emotions & gain a sense of control over them, instead of feeling controlled by them.

No long-term “talk therapy” here!

I utilize 21st Century techniques which include breath awareness, bibliotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) dream analysis, emotional freedom technique (EFT/Tapping), guided visualization, journaling, meditation, mirror work, practical reiki, reflexology, releasing techniques and self-hypnosis.

Your son/daughter gets one childhood and one adolescence- let them be joyful!

A Mindful Approach...A better feeling is just a thought away!
