I enjoy seeing children Trick or Treating in groups & with parents, on Halloween. While hopefully this is all about not really being scared, when a child or teen has fears or phobias (strong, irrational fears), it can be an uncomfortable time. I use Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), also called Tapping, to help my young clients overcome fears & phobias of all types. Parents, if your child/teen has been suffering with this problem, I can help!
Here are some suggestions many parents find useful for their children with fears and phobias:
Talk with your child about his/her anxieties, and be sympathetic. Explain that many children have fears, but with your support (s)he can learn to manage them.
Do not belittle or ridicule your child's fears, particularly in front of family members or friends.
Do not coerce your youngster into being brave; it will take some time to gradually overcome anxieties.
